New 500 And 2,000 Rupee Notes: First Look Released

After banning the denominations of Rupees 500 and Rupees 1000 and announcing that they will be withdrawn from midnight, Senior government officials and Reserve Bank of India chief Urijit Patel today revealed what the new Rs. 500 and 2000 notes will look like. These new notes will be launched on Thursday, November 10.
In a press conference these high officials declared this news by showing some specimens of new notes. And from tonight midnight old notes of 500 and 1000 will become "mere paper".

All these notes will be based on new security mechanism and will be brail equipped so that can be easily identified by blind people. The new series of Rupees 500 carries a picture of Delhi's Red Fort and will be called as the Mahatama Gandhi series of bank notes. Whereas the 2000 rupee note that is being introduced carries a picture of the Mangalyaan to celebrate India's Mars mission.
